Default Good work by Chandlers

So, Monday evening, as I leave Hertford I notice the clutch lever on the K12GT is coming back more than it should to engage the clutch and its getting a bit hard to change gear.

Join the M25 to come south and filtering through slow moving traffic with a bloody awful clutch was diabolical. I got to around teh m3 and called in to Chandlers - Phil, the lead technician, called me back and we discussed the problem. His view - clucth slave cylinder is dead. Oh bugger

Get home to Waterlooville after an eventful ride and got the bike collected by BMW Assist the next day. chandlers had ordered in the part, which arrived with them before the bike got to them. It was fitted, hydraulics flushed out properly and bike was back to me yesterday evening and is all fine.

Well done to Chandlers for using their initiative and ordering in parts to do a job and keep me on the move

And the good flush? That was a BMW tech who arrived at 6:30 and decidied he had to find the leak. it was raining. ANd he spilt fuild over the panels - cleaned off thankfully, but why oh why did he think he needed to do that...

The clutch fluid is mineral oil and not brake fluid so it won't damage your paint.

But he managed to introduce water into the system - good or what!

And I've got to say, Chandlers have come up trumps again.

Crown wheel bearing failed on Wednesday evening. Bike was there Thurs AM, full rear assembly ordered and fitted, with new rear tyre and pads, bike back Friday afternoon.

All under warranty, all painless apart from Avis, who are a right pain when dropping off and collecting a car.
