Default Low/High seats

I folks, did a wee search for this but came up empty handed ?

How can you tell what seat I have ?
my K12s has the 2 slashes on the front edge but it doesn't sit very well against the tank so I suspect it's the low seat, and the high seat would sit () better

Cheers for any info

By not sit against the tank very well do you mean there's a small gap? A small gap is perfectly normal and by design. If you have one of the BMW tank bags then the rod for the rear straps will sit just below that gap and the straps will come out through it.

This picture should help you identify...

Smile Re: Low/High seats

This was mentioned elsewhere within the forum but apparently, according to the other source the standard seat has two lines and the low seat has one, the K12s seat has an idiosyncracy that if you don't secure the seat onto the two silver lugs properly it rides high with a large gap between the seat and the tank, if the seat hasn't been off the bike too often you may need to push slightly forward to secure it onto the lugs before the you lock the rear of the seat, my first K12s had this and it was a pain until it was worn in. Hope this helps
Cheers

K1200 / K1300S Low Seat
Just saw the following disclaimer on that pic...

"NB Seat illustrated is for K1200R - design of the low seat is identical to the original item."

Found this pic which I believe is showing the correct OEM low seat...

Lower seat for the K1200S and K1300S Lower seat for the K1200S and K1300S 52 53 7 677 798

It has a few pics.

Regards,
