Default Clutch fluid change.

I need to replace my clutch hydraulic fluid and the dealer tells me that the fluid type has been changed by BMW. Does anyone know if there is a problem putting the new type fluid in a system that has been used with the original fluid? I will of course try to remove as much of the old fluid as possible.

Default Re: Clutch fluid change.

From previous experience, you need to make sure that you empty all of the system fluid and be sure about it. This way old and new will not interact with each other. Since they have among other and different degree of density.

So long as the change of fluid doesn't cause the rubbers to swell or disintegrate.
