Currently ride a K1200S, purchased new at the end of June 2007. However the bike is an 06 model year... I wanted the Indigo Blue again and did not fancy the 07 model year colours. Owned an 05 K1200S from July 2005 till June 2007 when I traded in with 18,000 miles on the clock. "New" bike is identical to my 05 model except this time I have the ESA.

Folk asked if I was pleased with my 1st K1200S when I bought it and the usual reply was yes, so much so if I even changed I would get the same again... and I did .

My son rides an 06 K1200R and I also like it... down on weather protection compared with the S, but feels nice and I would say probably handles a bit better on the narrow twisty roads whilst the S eats up the long distances with ease.

The 05 S went to the Austrian Alps twice but I have not had the time to venture out of Scotland with the 07 S, though It does have 6,500 miles on the clock and has been used (at least once )every month since purchase.

Hi Zox and thanks for joining up! As a fellow K12R Sport rider, I look forward to seeing some pics of your bike...

Perhaps even meet up when we get round to organising a European meet!

Default I guess we are all newbies!

Don't think I've been part of a new site so early on in its like. I hope all the effort that has been put in by the team is rewarded!

I had my first K1200R experience last year in Austria. There was a hotel there in Landeck which some of you may have read about. I hired my K1200R for a day for 44 euros and was pretty sure I wanted more when I came home.

I bought an 07 K1200R in January and am steadily getting used to it. Its my first BMW, and as long as I can stop twisting the throttle when I cancel the RH indiactor, there is a fair chance it won't be my last!

So hello everyone, and good luck to the site

Hi KeithM,

The Enzian in Landec? Stayed there twice... like it and as big Arnie says "I'll be back."

Regarding the throttle response... also watch moving the right thumb to switch on the heated grips... that can account for a 20 mph speed rise

Thanks for joining Keith, it's always hard to get the initial momentum going on a new club / forum, but I really do think there's the scope for a european club, looking at european issues on the K bikes... Let's see some pics soon as well chaps...

Hi, Bobtail (Bob) here it's great not to have go transatlantic all the time wish the site all success. Have had a K1200S since May 05 so was one of the first. No problems with it at all and just love it to bits. Only thing I wasn't too keen on was the colour I ended up with the grey but would have preferred black. Now that they do black I can see a change is forthcoming.

All the best to all site members.
